Center and Facilities

We’re Building Something Special For You

From the ground up, our top priority is to build an environment where you feel completely secure and supported, allowing you to fully relax and dedicate your energy to your personal journey with ayahuasca.

We are carefully planning every detail of our ayahuasca retreats to provide you with the perfect balance of authenticity and safety. We understand that for some, traveling to the Amazon Rainforest can seem intimidating. While it is unquestionably a unique and special place in the world, for us, it is our cherished home. We leverage our deep local knowledge to meticulously design our facilities and cultivate our land, ensuring your utmost safety and comfort throughout your stay. For an example right from the start, our facilities are being built with metal roofs to prevent pests like mice and snakes from nesting, and all buildings are completely sealed with mosquito netting. We also actively cultivate our land to minimize mosquito activity, ensuring your comfort throughout your stay.

Our chosen location is another integral part of our commitment to authenticity and safety. We are located at the end of a peaceful ravine off the Amazon River with our land backing on to a vast nature reserve offering you a tranquil location to experience ayahuasca.

We are also near the friendly community of San Rafael which is home to a beautiful butterfly farm and just a 15 minute boat ride from Iquitos. This allows you to experience traditional ayahuasca ceremonies in the Amazon Rainforest with the reassurance of still being conveniently close to Iquitos and local amenities. You will have the opportunity to focus on your personal journey of self-growth and healing without any underlying worry that can come with actually being isolated somewhere in the jungle.

Your Private Tambo

A tambo is the name for a traditional jungle lodge, designed to provide a serene sanctuary during your retreat. We are starting with six private rooms, each featuring its own private bathroom and shower.

This intentionally small group format ensures you receive personalized attention and dedicated support from our experienced curandero and facilitators. Here, in your private space, you'll find the peace and quiet necessary for deep contemplation and personal meditation, allowing you to process insights at your own pace.

For your convenience, room service and laundry service are inclusively provided. Our spacious tambos can also comfortably accommodate two guests, ideal for those wishing to share with a significant other.

The Maloka

A maloka (or maloca) is the traditional, circular ceremonial building used for ayahuasca ceremonies in the Amazon. It is considered a sacred space where healing, spiritual work, and community connection take place.

Our maloka is exceptionally spacious at 14 meters (46 feet) across, ensuring each guest has ample personal space for focused healing and introspection during ceremonies.

Within this safe and sacred space, our small group format provides the unique opportunity for daily one-on-one counseling with our curandero and facilitators, offering personalized support for your individual needs.

Common Area and Dining Hall

Your stay at Yachay Mama will include nourishing and delicious, ayahuasca-friendly meals accommodated to your dietary needs. You will also have unlimited filtered drinking water, tea, and fresh fruit at your disposal. We’re planning to offer some of the unique superfoods that grow here in the Amazon.

Our inviting common area is designed for both relaxation and connection. Here, you can unwind in a hammock, delve into a book from our library, engage in therapeutic artwork, or share in meaningful conversations and perhaps build new lasting friendships with fellow guests who are also on this unique and special journey.

For music lovers, we're planning a collection of instruments available for therapeutic expression. Send us a message through the form below or connect with us on social media to suggest any instruments you feel would be essential to making your stay more enjoyable.
